Rushed adulthood

In progress

Dimitris Rapakousis

This project was created on an island in northwestern Greece, one of the few inhabited islands in a lake. It was first inhabited by monks in the 13th century, and during the Ottoman Empire in the early 17th century it became a place of exile for Maniates. Within a context of rapid political and economic changes, a settlement with specific anthropogenic characteristics began to emerge. However, even today, the island has no name. Peter was born on this island, a teenager who instead of going to school, acts as a self-proclaimed adult. In times of deep financial crisis, he is making a living by doing jobs that allow him to live on the edge. Living in the margin of safety at the center of this lake settlement, he takes on roles that come in direct conflict with the expectations of his age.
